ABOUT THE ARTIST
Tsuchya Koitsu was born in Japan, 1879. Koitsu was a student of the ukiyo-e master Kiyochika Kobayashi after he has started an apprenticeship as a woodblock carver, which he then worked on for 19 years. Koitsu has then became a working artist for watanabe in shin hanga style back in 1931.
