A BALLOON VIEW OF LONDON (C.1851)

The first manned hot air balloon flight in England took place in 1784 when Italian pilot Vincenzo Lunardi travelled over the rooftops of London. Over the next century, ‘balloonomania’ became a craze and balloon tours over London became a popular sightseeing activity.
