GRAPES AND VINE LEAVES

In many ancient cultures, grapes are regarded as sacred, and symbolise abundance and transformation. Considered juice of the gods, wine was associated to the Greek god Dionysus and the Roman god Bacchus. Illustration by botanist Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759–1840).
