Legend says that Saint Patrick stood on top of an Irish hillside and banished snakes from Ireland. However, researches suggest snakes were never on the Emerald Isle in the first place!

Leprechauns are based on Celtic fairies
The original Irish name for these creatures of folklore is “lobaircin,” meaning “small-bodied fellow.” It is believed that leprechauns stems from Celtic fairies which are tiny men and women who could use their magical powers to serve good or evil.
