DICKENS AND TURK (C.1862)

Charles Dickens with his mastiff dog called ‘Turk' who, according to his daughter Mamie, was “his strongest love.” A good friend of Dickens wrote that his interest in animals was ‘inexhaustible’ and inspired the writer’s imagination.
