Text on the reverse side:

The waterfall was portrayed as a religious symbol in Japanese artworks from the early 13th Century. In the 15th century, Soami took inspiration from Li Bai’s 6th century poem “Gazing at the Waterfall” to portray the sharp contrast between the cosmic expanse and one’s brief existence.
