Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan commissioned the Taj Mahal to house the remains of his late wife, Mumtaz Mahal. This symbol of love cost around 1 billion US dollars. With 20,000 artisans, around 1 million US dollars a week was spent during its 20 years of construction.
