Back in 1965, the average married or cohabiting woman did 30 hours per week of housework, compared to a man’s 4.9 hours. A study in 2007 found that labour saving devices (plus more help from men) have slashed women’s average housework hours to 13.2 per week. The truth is - women are still stuck with doing around two-thirds of the housework.
