L'ARLÉSIENNE (1888)

By Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) who painted two similar portraits of the owner of Café de la Gare, Marie Ginoux. In a letter dated 1888, he writes about the first portrait as the "Arlésienne . . . knocked off in one hour". The portrait belonged to Marie Ginoux until she sold the painting in 1895.
