The pressure in a bottle of Champagne is typically twice, if not three times, the pressure in a car tyre. Champagne corks are held in place atop the bottle with a musket (the wire cage) and a plaque de muselet (metal cap that bears the Champagne house’s branding or cuvée) which has become a collectable item. Such a collector is called a placomusophile.
