The American musical drama film, was an adaptation of the 1952 novel, A Stone for Danny Fisher by Harold Robbins. It famously starred Elvis Presley, who later indicated that of all the roles he played in his acting career, the role he played in King Creole was his favourite. Fourteen days after the completion of the film, Elvis was officially inducted into the U.S. Army.
