ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hasui Kawase (1883-1957) is one of modern Japan's most important and prolific printmakers of the Shin-Hanga, ‘New Prints’, school. He travelled frequently throughout Japan, creating sketches and watercolours of places he visited which inspired his woodblock prints. Rather than portraying famous places (meisho), as was common in prints, Hasui was best known for his atmospheric and romantic depictions of rural Japanese landscapes.

AUTHENTICITY

Every print includes a certificate of authenticity.
